How do I get to the Glénan islands?

To set foot on the island of Saint-Nicolas, head for the ports of Bénodet, Beg-Meil or Port-La-Forêt. From April to September, the shipping company Les Vedettes de l’Odet operates the crossing. The journey takes around an hour, plenty of time to enjoy the sea, the wind… and sometimes to come across a dolphin!

Departures:

  • Port of Bénodet: April to September
  • Beg-Meil slipway: July and August
  • Port-La Forêt: July and August

Worth knowing:

  • return in the afternoon.

Les Vedettes de l’Odetalsooffers a non-stop cruise to Les Glénan:

Smart advice

It’s quieter in June and September. It makes for an even more enjoyable experience!

Our advice on how to make the most of it

What to pack in your bag :

  • Sun cream, sunglasses and a hat: shade is rare, so it’s best to be well equipped!
  • Plenty of water: the sea air makes you thirsty.
  • A picnic or a reservation at one of the island’s two restaurants: La Boucane or Chez Castric.
  • Swimming costume, towel, mask, snorkel, and why not a camera to immortalise this dream setting.
  • A light jacket for the trip out to sea (the wind may pick up!).

♻️ And above all… think about the environment: take all your rubbish with you. Here, more than anywhere else, nature is precious.
