Do you love long walks, varied landscapes and freedom? Here are 6 emblematic itineraries for (re)discovering the Breton Riviera in long strides. Whether on your own, with friends or as a duo, we’ve got you covered.

Let yourself be carried along by the rhythm of your footsteps, follow the curves of the coastline, cross the woods, skirt the fields or marshes, pass from one village to another… On the Breton Riviera, walking is a sensory experience, an immersion in a living territory with a thousand faces.

These circular walks of at least 10 km require a little stamina, but a lot of fun! They’re aimed at regular walkers who are curious and love beautiful scenery and wide open spaces.

Each route has its own atmosphere: a coastal path with a sea view, a walk through protected natural areas, a dip in the greenery under the shade of trees or a stroll through built heritage and farmland.

#1 The coves of Beg-Meil 10.2 km

Take the coastal path from Cap-Coz to the pointe de Beg-Meil and its semaphore. Then let yourself be guided along the famous and picturesque GR®34. The walk offers breathtaking views of the ocean and the surrounding coves: Lantecoste, Bot Conan, La Roche Percée… Don’t hesitate to stop off for a swim or a picnic. Then take a stroll down the charming shopping street of Beg-Meil. The tour continues towards Cap-Coz, skirting the kiwi orchards.

#2 From the White Sea to the Mousterlin marshes 14 km

Immerse yourself in a protected Natura 2000 site, between sea and marsh. On this walk, you can breathe in the wild scent of the coastline, appreciate the tranquillity of the bocage and observe the richness of the marshes, such as their changing reflections where little egrets and grey herons feed. Lend an ear to the birdsong and watch them carefully from the observatory. A short diversions through the countryside will take you to the Saint-Sébastien chapel, a haven of peace nestling in a green setting. Binoculars and camera are essential for capturing the beauty of the landscape and the diversity of the flora and fauna!

#3 The Corniche loop 11.2 km

Let yourself be enchanted by the beauty of a seaside walk and discover spectacular coastal scenery! This tour takes you around Bénodet. From thecove at Penfoul, follow the coastline as far as Le Letty. Pass through the marina, then cross the long Trez beach and its beach huts. At the pointe de Groasguen, admire the superb view of the mer blanche, the lagoon that appears at low tide. The walk continues along thePetit Moulin cove. You can cross the cove via a long footbridge. Take the time to stop in this beautiful natural setting, where you can observe a wide variety of bird species.

#4 Around Anse Saint-Laurent 9.7 km

Take in the coastal scenery and heritage of La Forêt-Fouesnant on this walk, which starts near Kerleven beach. The route quickly joins the forest countryside, where you can admire a rich heritage: stele, porch, chapel, etc. You then walk along the cove to Port-La-Forêt, the marina famous for its training centre for ocean racing skippers. You’ll finish with the long sandy beach of Kerleven before returning to the starting point.

#5 In the heart of the Mousterlin marshes 10 km

This Natura 2000 site offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in a preserved ecosystem and admire a wide variety of animal and plant species. The morning is the ideal time to observe and listen to the animals in their natural habitat, including herons, mallards and other species. Nestle in one of the site’s observatories, keep your binoculars to hand and be patient. Walking along the paths criss-crossing the marsh in the early hours of the morning is a memorable experience.

#6 The Prajou Valley 10.2 km

Head away from the town of Pleuven along a sunken lane to discover this walk, which takes you around the Prajou district. It offers a fine overview of the Pleuvenno countryside before reaching the commune of Fouesnant and its majestic Sainte-Anne chapel. The route passes through a slightly urbanised area before rejoining the Hent Ar Bleizi path towards the town of Pleuven.

#7 Around the Saint-Cadou chapel 10.8 km

What a pleasure it is to start this walk alongside Saint-Cadou and admire the privately-owned Château de Penfrat a little further on. As you go along, you’ll discover some lovely surprises: the pretty Saint-Cadou chapel, surrounded by its oratory and fountain, lush green countryside along pleasant wooded paths and the orchards of the Kermao cider mill. To finish the walk, you’ll take a number of back roads before returning to the starting point.
